An LSA For Piper Fans

In a move sure to please low-wing advocates Piper Aircraft has announced it will partner with Czech Sport Aircraft through a licensing agreement for Piper to produce the PiperSport. Piper Aircraft announced today at the U.S. Sport Aviation Expo in Sebring, FL that it is going back to its roots with 3 models of the Czech Sport Aircraft company’s design. The basic PiperSport will sell for $119,900, while the training edition will retail for $ 129,900 and a decked out version called the TLD will sell for $139,900. The two place aircraft will run very well on motor gas or 100LL, solving the upcoming problem of when lead gets banned from avgas. |

All the models of the new Piper entrant into the light sport aircraft market will sport the famous Rotax 912 engine bringing Piper back into the entry-level aircraft arena. It is hoped that this new aircraft will begin to fill the funnel of customers for Piper Aircraft’s other aircraft.
PiperSport SpecificationsThe aircraft will have a useful load of 600 pounds with a maximum gross weight of 1,320 pounds, with the fuel tanks holding 30 gallons of fuel for a maximum range of 600 nautical miles.
