How to Properly Fly a C130J Hercules Transport Aircraft

When it comes to flying airplanes, the most exciting part is putting the aircraft through its paces. This is true whether or note its a Piper Cub or a C130J Hercules transport.

Well, each year at the Paris Air Show a lot of business is done, and the US Government is there selling all of its latest and greatest hardware, including the C130J aircraft.

To cinch the deal, however, it is necessary to demonstrate the aircraft and put it through its paces, all as close to within the boundaries of the airport as possible.

The video below shows one such demonstration which lasts a mere 6 minutes + from takeoff roll to the completion of the demonstration.

Note how aggressive the pilot is with the controls, and listen carefully to the stall warnings and other warnings that go off during the flight.

I don’t know about you, but these demonstrations in large aircraft always seem to intrigue me!

Until next time keep your wings straight and level Hersch!
