We Are NOT All Created Equal!

While Congress rails against all things corporate America, members still enjoy their perks. Take the case of the fine ex-mayor of our fair city – Detroit, MI. Kwame Kilpatrick. U.S. Rep. Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick, D-Mich., said Wednesday the
congresswoman paid for the flight, which reunited her son with his wife
and two sons.
Kilpatrick had just been released from jail after serving 99 days for perjury and headed south to an affluent suburb of Dallas to a new life and a new job. Considering that he owes the city of Detroit $ 1,000,000, it had better be a good one.
He has moved into an ordinary 2800sf brick house in the most affluent neighborhood in Dallas, and has left Detroit far behind. If a judge approves the transfer of his probation to Dallas, then Kilpatrick will be on probation in Texas.
He was accompanied by his attorneys, and it is rumored that he is going to sue SkyTel for releasing his private text messages which led to the perjury conviction. He was having an affair with his assistant, and lied about it in an $ 8.4 million dollar suit won by two police officers who were his bodyguards.
I guess it is O.K. for Congressmen and Congresswomen to criticize private companies for using business jets, but it is O.K. for a Congresswoman to use one.
Ah what a great country to live in!
Until next time keep your wings straight and level Hersch!
