How To Fly

Who among us pilots doesn’t like fast cars? Most pilots I know love to drive, sail boats, ski and do anything that generally requires speed and skill. Fast women? I leave that choice to you!
But fast cars? I’m all in here! In 1997 when the newest version of the Corvette came out I knew I had to have one. My wife, ever conservative, could not understand why I would want a car with two seats that goes like heck. Fixed that problem, though. She is a pilot, and so we went to the Nevada desert and learned how to drive really fast on a track with a neat group of students, many of whom were – you guessed it – pilots! |

Over the years only one of us ever got a ticket in that car, and it wasn’t me! Cruising across the United States we dropped down into South Dakota and as we crossed the border my wife got stopped by a cop. His first question to my wife was if the car was stolen!
After a bit of conversation he agreed to lower the excess speed so that we didn’t have to visit the local justice of the peace, and we were on our way several hundred dollars lighter in the pocket. To this day that is the only ticket she has ever received in her life.  How To Do Aerobatics
I know, I know, most of us can’t afford one, but imagine if we could. Better yet, wouldn’t it be great if we could rent or borrow one. For just an hour or so. Ask the boss. Plead.
