A Short Pause

Forgive me if I take a short pause from posting to my blog, but last night a newcomer caused lack of sleep and – frankly – a little worry. My daughter called and told me she was heading to the hospital around 10:00 am, and schools had been closed because of the snowfall.
Short calls throughout the afternoon and evening from her husband confirmed all was well and on schedule, and around 9:00pm it seemed the blessed event would happen soon. Midnight arrives and still no new arrival, and tossing and turning another call at 5:30am – STILL no new arrival!

Finally, at 6:24am the little one has arrived, and it was off to the hospital to see mother, dad and grand daughter. What a beauty! At 6 pounds 10 ounces and 20 inches long she finally decided to show up and bless us with her presence. Grandfather (that’s me) got to hold her for a few minutes while my wife (Grandmother, the child photographer) recorded the encounter. You can see her here:

And then, of course, her is proud GrandPa holding his granddaughter:

So, forgive me if I take a short break here to savor the moment!

Until next time keep your wings straight and level Hersch!
