Helicopters are in the news once again with two very different stories. First, a Robinson R-44 with two FAA employees crashed as one of the pilots was conducting a proficiency check ride of the other in the helicopter. The helicopter crashed into a duplex where no one was home at the time fortunately. One FAA employee has been reported in critical condition while the other died at the scene of the accident in Jackson, MS. Hmmm - two FAA employees, one checking the other out in the helicopter - kind of makes you cautious about those FAA check rides, doesn't it?
In other news Governor Jindal of Louisiana is experiencing some of the same criticism our auto company leaders experienced earlier as he is charged with using State Police helicopters to attend some 14 church services running up a tab of $ 45,000+! Perhaps the Governor wanted to impress folks at the churches by dropping in from Heaven? So where is Pelosi and her attacks on the use of aircraft/helicopters? Maybe she feels guilty about her own use of government aircraft for transport and is lying low for a while. Who knows? Until next time keep your wings straight and level Hersch! JetAviator7
There are two critical points in every aerial flight—its beginning and its end.
