Capt Kirk Talks To The ISS

by John White |

The International Space Station in orbit above earthWho isn't amazed by the ISS (International Space Station) without having enjoyed the voyages of the starship Enterprise with Captain Kirk (William Shatner) or watching a shuttle land in Florida? All of us who are pilots are fascinated by everything that flies, from birds to airplanes to spaceships and everything in between. Any pilot will tell you once you experience the freedom of flying an airplane your life changes and you never see terra firma in the same way again.

I remember the Apollo program and how I wanted to know everything about it I could. Once, while flying a Piper Aztec with a friend to Florida we just happened to be on the airway West of Cape Canaveral when one of those huge Saturn rockets was launched! It was an incredible sight to see!

An Interesting Conversation

In the video that follows astronaut Chris Hadfield carries on a conversation with William Shatner of Captain Kirk fame, and I think you will find it very interesting:

An Interesting Google+ Hangout

According to on February 22, 2013 there will be a fascinating Google+ Hangout with the astronauts on the International Space Station:
And now, they're going to hold their first ever Google+ Hangout from space, where people who watch will be able to fire questions (see submission guidelines) at the astronauts living on the International Space Station on Friday, February 22. Space is awesome, and talking to a real, live astronaut in space is yet another Great Moment in Video History, something that seemingly happens every week in the world of video. During the Hangout, lucky questions will be asked of astronauts Kevin Ford, Chris Hadfield, and Tom Marshburn about life on the statiom, experiments they conduct, and how they have to approach everyday activities with the consideration of what weightlessness for 6 months will do to a human body. In addition to the chosen questions, followers on Twitter, Facebook, and G+ will get to ask real-time questions.
