In a bit of good news for the aviation industry Cirrus has announced that with the certification of its popular SR22 model aircraft and avionics suite improvements have led to increased demand for their aircraft. Production is expected to increase to 8 aircraft a week from 6 aircraft per week. The company expects that this increase in demand will impact about 50 furloughed employees, bringing some additional good news to an embattled general aviation industry. In the meantime Bombardier announced that slowing sales of business aircraft will negatively impact its bottom line by dropping income some 50% in the first quarter of 2009. It would certainly help if the government would quit spending money and concentrate on what they do best, i.e. run wars, and leave business to take care of itself. Unfortunately, I fear Obama and his administration fully intend to convert our economy to a joint government-private sector economy, despite his protestations to the contrary. If you don't believe me, look at all of the Czar's he has appointed, including the latest Income Czar! Imperial Russia would be impresses! Until next time keep your wings straight and level Hersch! JetAviator7 There is an old adage in aviation - "If you want to make a small fortune in aviation, start with a big one."
