Ford Plugs General Aviation

by John M. White |  | 1 comment

Yesterday there was an event at the U.S. Capitol which featured our favorite actor, Harrison Ford. As we all know, Ford has a number of aircraft and is an avid aviator.Harrison Ford Speaks In Support Of General AviationFord spoke with passion about the economic impact general aviation has, and the over 1.3 million people employed in general aviation endeavors. Ford is presently a spokesman for AOPA's General Aviation Serves America campaign and an Honorary Board Member of Wings of Hope. He flies both fixed and rotor wing aircraft, and is one of general aviation's biggest supporters. The meeting in Alexandria, VA was attended by 20 U.S. Representatives and 5 U.S. Senators, along with more than 250 congressional staff and industry representatives. He particularly enjoys working to highlight the sectors of general aviation not frequently discussed, such as EMS flights, the civil air patrol, and public safety flights. Here is a short video on the "General Aviation Serves America campaign: Until next time keep your wings straight and level Hersch! It is good that there are patrons like Harrison Ford taking an interest in aviation.

In a few years, there could be a crisis due to the shortage of pilots presently getting trained.

GA needs new pilots coming through the pipeline to insure that there are a enough pilots available. Otherwise, we could be outsourcing that as well.

    Regards,
