The United States seems to be engaged in a lot of wars these days, but some of us who are older harken back to the days of the "Great War" - World War II. It seems that life was simpler then, our purpose clearer and our resolve stronger. Today, many of those veterans are at or nearing the end of their lives, and most never spoke about their experiences. My father in law served under General George Patton in Germany, and never once spoke about his experiences during the war. I suspect it was too painful to remember. Unfortunately for us soon all of these brave souls will be gone - but not forgotten. As pilots and aviators we, of course, focus on groups like The Flying Tigers or the B-17 crews who fought so gallantly during the Second World War. To that end I found the following video which I think pays great tribute to those airmen of the past: If any of you have something you would like to share, be sure and let us know in the comments below - I know I would like to hear more.
