by John M. White |

On Sunday morning, December 21st, 2008 White Knight Two took flight for the first time on a flawless one our jaunt above the Mojave Air and Space Port in California.  The twin hull four engine jet all-composite aircraft made an historic maiden voyage at about 8:15am on a bright California day. While the trip is not into orbital flight it none the less takes you above the arbitrary "Karman Line" which delineates the boundary between the earth's atmosphere and outer space. This line is at approximately 62.1 miles, or 327,888 feet altitude. For the mere sum of $ 200,000 you can take a  30 minute flight at 360,000 feet altitude where you can see for 1,000 miles in every direction and a total flight time of 2 1/2 hours.

To date the first 100 "Space Tickets" have been sold but you can get into the next group of 1,000 "Pioneers" for a deposit of between $ 100,000 and $ 175,000.  Once this list is full then you can reserve your seat as a "Voyager" for a deposit of only $ 20,000.  Hurry, you don't want to miss out on this one!
