Learn the Difference Between Mandatory and Recommended Operational Information

by John M. White |

As pilots we need to understand the difference between mandatory and recommended operational information that applies to our airplane.

Consider all of the operational information in our Pilot's Operating Handbook, the Airplane Flight Manual, old style Airplane Owner's Manual and even Maintenance Manuals. How much of it do we really need to know?

How much is mandatory and how much is just a recommendation? Do you know?

Pilots need to know their limitations including which apply to your airplane and why.

On Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at 19:00 hours Central Standard Time you can find the answers on an FAA webinar. Among the topics to be covered are:

  • FAA Approved POH and Airplane Flight Manual vs FAA "accepted" date
  • Inoperative equipment and the KOEL
  • Limitations for optional and after market equipment
  • Limitations for Airworthiness Directives
  • Instructions for Continued Airworthiness

During this live event participants will be able to ask questions. Although this American Bonanza Society program is oriented towards pilots of Beech Aircraft the discussion, techniques and procedures described are valuable to the pilot of any aircraft.
