It was a breath of fresh air to hear the soon to be Speaker of the House tell us that he will continue to fly coach class on commercial aircraft when returning to his home district. Finally, someone who identifies with us "common folk".
Official records show that Nancy Pelosi burned $ 28,000 each time she flew an Air Force GV from Washington, DC to California, and that in a period of just 18 months blew through over $ 2,000,000! It is clear, even to the casual observer, that Speaker Pelosi thinks she is entitled to use our money to keep her comfortable and away from the "common folk" when traveling around the world. With such arrogance is it any wonder our country is in trouble? I vote for some fresh air in Congress and an end to all waste, no matter how insignificant any one item may be. Anyone else? Until next time keep your wings straight and level Hersch! JetAviator7 ps: Don't forget to sign up for our newsletter "All Things Aviation" here! Read a bit more here:

Keith:
I was speaking strictly to the use of business jet aircraft and nothing else. The point I wanted to make was lets treat everyone the same, and appreciate that business aircraft are a tool, not a luxury.

Nancy Pelosi has a lot of money, and believe me when I tell you that they really don’t want to fly sitting next to one of us. Pelosi demanded this kind of transportation when she could have used her own husbands aircraft instead if she didn’t want to fly on the airlines.

So Josh, where does the protection end? Are commercial airlines so unsafe for members of the legislature but good enough for us?
Come on, that reason makes no sense.
