For the Transall C-160, more than 5 decades of reliable service is never enough. In fact, several models of this military transport aircraft are still flightworthy up to these days. The C.160 was a military tactical transport aircraft built out of West German and French consortium dubbed as Transall, short for Transporter Allianz. This aircraft got the "C" label, which means "Cargo", plus the wing area in square meters (160), hence its official designation of C-160. The first Transall aircraft took its maiden flight in 1963 and over the years, a number of C-160 variants provided logistical support to several overseas operations and deployments. They also carried out special missions, including being an aerial refueling tanker, electronic intelligence, as well as communications platform.
This handcrafted model is painted in the same paint scheme as the original and is painstakingly built from Philippine mahogany by our skilled craftsmen. Perfect as a gift for any aviation enthusiast and history buff!
